Marjorie Cranston

I began drawing when I was almost 4 years old. My favorite aunt was a painter and she worked with me. I also found out that my father had the gift of art. It was the art that gave me purpose in life.

A few years ago we chose to move to Grand Lake, Colorado where I continue to develop both areas of art and design. The art has come to life in Grand Lake with the painting of the area . . . especially the boathouses on Grand Lake. This has brought the love of preserving history back into my life.

Pastel is my media of choice. I love the color. Using large sticks of color my work does lose fine detail and it is more impressionistic, but I work to that end. The simple pieces are my very favorites.
